<description>Hi Lyndy: I just heard you mention Parade's February 2010 interview with Elton John. I looked it up online and after reading it, was not too surprised with his comments about AIDS awareness, Ronald Reagan, our government and Jesus Christ. I saw Elton John perform here in Savannah in 2008. Great show! He has love and a big heart, although he is very misguided about who Jesus is and what He came to accomplish. As a Christian who loves the Lord and is forgiven by Him of all of my own sins from my past and the ones I continue to commit in the present, I am challenged every day by people at large with this same view of who Jesus is. It's offensive to hear a homosexual refer to Jesus as being gay, but God tells me to love and pray for my enemies. This is very difficult most times but, believe it or not, I do pray for Elton John and all the gay men and women that I work with every day in Savannah.God loves Elton John, especially as he remains in the misguided state he lives in, and my prayer is that Elton will one day soon realize who God really is, who Jesus really is and the difference He wants to make in Elton's life now and in eternity. Now, for the part the government plays in the AIDS epidemic, well... Mr. Elton John and everyone else needs to realize there are ALWAYS consequences to our daily behavior. If I allow my kids to play in the street or play with fire, they will eventually get hurt badly or possibly killed. If I decide to rob a bank and continue this lifestyle with no remorse or change in the opposite direction, then most likely I will get caught, be arrested and spend time in prison. If I were a homosexual and continued in that lifestyle, knowing what God says but choosing to ignore it and also knowing what the CDC says about possilby contracting AIDS as a homosexual, and choosing to ignore that, well then I should be expecting consequences to eventually catch up with me. You really do reap what you sow. That's our human weakness. But God is the answer.
