Hot enough for you?
 Now we'll find out who the real soccer fans are. With the US out are we going to watch the World Cup? I'm not, how about you?
Great turnout at Tybee for Hands Across the Sand on Saturday. We feel the pain on the Gulf Coast...that's what this was about but isn't this the time to really look at alternative energy sources? How long are we going to send billions of dollars to countries that hate us? And how long are we going to play Russian Roulette with our precious coast line? It happened on the Gulf Coast who can say it wouldn't happen here? Let's not take that chance until we have an escape plan that's foolproof.
More and more beaches are now banning alcohol. It's something that Tybee tried for a couple of years in the 70's. Don't know if it's time for that again or not but drinking on the beach, especially underage drinking, is getting out of hand. I'm glad I don't have to be on the Tybee Road heading back to town on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. And why don't we have roadblocks heading back to town instead of on the way to a beach. I bet the Tybee Police and State Patrol would have their hands full with the DUI's on the road.
In the meantime have a safe and happy 4th and enjoy those fireworks!!
