Hi Everybody,
Maybe this exercise deal isn't all that it's cracked up to be. Wrecked my knees from running..after 4 surgeries and a knee replacement had to stop. So I started going to the gym and doing some lifting. Now after undergoing my second hernia surgery on Friday I'm asking the question...Is exercise all that it's cracked up to be? It is but the key is moderation and I think it's time to figure that out for me.
Recovering this weekend I missed the Orange Crush festivities but from what I understand things were pretty calm this year. It looks like the changes put in by new Chief Bob Bryson paid dividends.
So Barry Bonds convicted of obstruction, sentencing to follow. But there's more to come, Roger Clemens is next. And the number 7 is the one that ties these two together. 7 MVP's for Bonds and 7 Cy Young's for Clemens. Right now neither of these guys have a chance of getting into the Hall of Fame. Not only that but every player linked to steroids has gotten close to zero support in the voting. But if you look at the records of Bonds and Clemens before steroid use that would probably be enough to get them in but the voters are not looking at it like that.
One other thought on steroids. Look at the Canseco twins, Jose and Ozzie. And the Giambi brothers, Jason and Jeremy. Steroids ran in those families but in each case there was one outstanding player and the other brother..not much. So steroids made players better but the ability had to be there to begin with.
Thanks for reading and let me know what you think.....

Hello Everybody,
So raise your hand if you ever heard of Charl Schwartzel before yesterday? I know I hadn't but we know him now, he's the 2011 Masters champion. And what a tournament it was. At times yesterday there were 7 different golfers tied for the lead including one Tiger Woods. After a scintillating front nine Eldrick couldn't make it happen coming home. He wound up tied for 4th, just like last year.
The Kentucky Derby is 3 weeks from Saturday and now it's wide open. The 2 year old champion, the undefeated, Uncle Mo came up empty in the stretch of the Wood Memorial and faded to 3rd. Keep in mind though that Secretariat came in 3rd in that same Wood Memorial in 1973 and we all know what he went on to do.
So the politicians decided to work it out and keep the government running. But either way they would have kept getting paid and that's whats important to THEM isn't it?
Gotta' love athletes..this from a fomer Senior basketball player at the University of Pittsburgh..."I'm going to graduate on time no matter how long it takes."
Have a great week everybody,
Jerry |
