Hello Everybody,

11/7/11..this should be somebody's lucky day...hope it's yours. Although the 'Dawgs won on Saturday it may not have been their lucky day. With South Carolina losing, Georgia is now in the drivers seat for the SEC East title which would mean a date with likely SEC West champ LSU. And they've got a pretty good defense....maybe a little better than New Mexico St. Auburn is next on Saturday and big game for Tech Thursdy night against Virginia Tech. This will go a long way towards deciding what kind of season this will be for the Jackets.

The Savannah Rock n' Roll Marathon a great success save for the tragedy that couldn't be helped. But one thing than can be helped is some of the logistics problems expecially regarding traffic issues. And next year the goal is 28,000 runners...5,000 more than this year. Where are we going to put all those people?

Another Marathon was run this weekend...the NYC Marathon with lot's of celebrity participants including Olympic champs, Speed skater...Apolo Anton Ohno and Softball's...Jenny Finch. Ohno finished in 3:25:14 and Finch 4:05:26 with both raising funds for their respective charities. Well done!!

Exciting Breeder's Cup at Churchill Downs this weekend. Drosselmeyer with Mike Smith riding won the Classic running down Game on Dude in the shadow of the wire. Dude was ridden by Smith's former girl friend, Chantal Sutherland. What a back story there.

And finally...Happy Birthday Jeff...my son Jeff celebrating his big day today....

Have a great week everybody and let me know what's on your mind...

Happy Halloween everybody,

Trick or treating tonight. You know Tybee was going to have it on Saturday, the Lewis Avenue extravaganza, and then switched it back to Monday. Wouldn't it be a good idea to always have Halloween trick or treating on the last Saturday of October?

Finally the 'Dawgs beat the Gators and that's good. But in the end you have to think, even with Georgia winning 6 in a row, this is not a great 'Dawg team. And those special teams...they are not special. This was a poorly played game but a win is a win. The best scenario for Georgia would be to win out but have South Carolina do the same. Let the Gamecocks have the dubious honor of playing the LSU/Alabama winner.

Congratulations to the Jackets...great win for Tech over Clemson.

Still can't get over Game 6...an all time classic. And kudos to the Fox Pre and Post game shows. AJ Pierzinski is a future star and Chris Rose and Erik Karros do their usual professional job.

We haven't had a serious accident for a while on the Tybee Road and let's hope it stays that way. But why, on the way to the beach, does the speed limit change from 45 to 55 in the middle of that big curve just past the Bull River bridge? Wouldn't it be better to wait until we're beyond the curve?

Trump, Bachman, Perry, Cain..who will be the next GOP flavor of the month? Have we ever seen anything quite like this?

We will have lot's of visitors this week as Savannah welcomes the Rock 'n Roll Marathon. Of course all of our guests will still get the first impression of our beautiful city through those same ugly gateways. Can we please get a lawnmower? Good luck to all the 23,000 participants with more than 18,000 from out of the Coastal Empire and Low Country. Welcome everybody!!

Have a great week...

Hello Everybody,

Signs, Signs...everywhere a sign...It's Political season and the signs are everywhere. At Tybee with 16 or so candidates running it makes for bunches of signs on that very small Island. However found out last week although Political signs are just fine not so with yard sale signs, those are just not allowed. A neighbor had a yard sale sign on her truck parked on Highway 80 and the Police came and said the sign had to go. You can put a yard sale sign in your own yard and that's about it. Is Tybee trying to become the new Hilton Head?

Although he hasn't won a major, right now, Luke Donald is the best golfer on the planet. He proved it again yesterday with an amazing performance in the Disney classic. He will win the PGA player of the year title.

Has there ever been a bigger regular season SEC game than the November 5th LSU-Alabama battle? Probably not..but right now our sights are set on Georgia-Florida Saturday in Jacksonville. This could and should be the year.

Kudos to Savannah Christian. Big win for the Raiders over Calvary and hopefully this will be their year to go all the way.

Lot's more people are starting to get in the conversation about the condition of the gateways into Savannah. With all the candidates running for different offices sure would like to hear one of them say something about this.

Still can't get over Albert Pujols on Saturday night...he is the Machine!!

Like the job Zooey Deschannel did on the National Anthem before last night's World Series game. Also nice touch with former President Bush throwing out the first pitch to Rangers President and Hall of Famer Nolan Ryan. By the way Ryan showed he was a great pitcher and not a catcher.

So just when we started wondering where are the upsets this season....up jumped Michigan State and Texas Tech to beat Wisconsin and Oklahoma. The way they started the Sooners must have thought the game was still in a weather delay. And the Badgers just got "Flutied"..what a play.

And after yesterday you have to think Tim Tebow is in fact The Chosen One. And the Miami Dolphins, Indy Colts and St. Louis Rams are trying hard to win the Luck sweepstakes.

See you at the Jewish Food Festival this Sunday in Forsyth Park.

Let me know what you're thinking and have a great week everybody..
