So where's Lebron going? It seems every city but Savannah has been mentioned. Maybe we can revive our old Savannah Spirits of the CBA and make Lebron an offer...

The Winter Jellyfish are gone from Tybee. The water temp was perfect this weekend but the constant breeze still made going in a tough proposition.

No Triple Crown winner again this year in horse racing. Super Saver came up empty in the Preakness stretch and the race went to Lookin' At Lucky. By the way neither horse will be competing in the Belmont on June 5th. It's now been 32 years since there was a Triple Crown winner and it might be another 32 before it happens again. Horses used to run more often. Seabiscuit ran 35 times as a two year old and that was the norm. But now horses are bred for pure speed not for durability and most of the best horses don't run more than 6 or 7 times a year. So let's spread those Triple Crown races out. Keep the Derby on the first Saturday in May, but move the Preakness to the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend and the Belmont to the 4th of July Saturday. Then maybe we'll have another Triple Crown winner.

The Avett Brothers are hot. The North Carolina group will be at the Johnny Mercer Theatre on June 11th and it's just about sold out. We're playing their song, "I and Love and You"...good stuff.

Congratulations to the Armstrong Lady Pirates Tennis team they just won their 3rd straight Division 11National Tennis title.

The Tybee 500 wrapped up over the weekend. Another great job by Tybee's Chuck Bargeron putting this race on. The sailors go all the way from S. Fla to Tybee in a week long marathon.

When you visit the beach remember to leave only your footprints. Litter laws strictly enforced this year and keep in mind no bottles of any kind on the beach

Hello again everybody,

It was the attack of the Jellyfish this weekend at Tybee. August is usually the month but not this time. NEVER have I seen this many and in so many shapes and sizes. Big, small and in between and so many of them. Although most people stayed out of the water many of those who went in were rewarded with a nice sting. Spoke to some of the lifeguards and they called them Winter Jellyfish but it's not something we've seen here for along time. The guards also said some of these guys have been reported to be as big as compact cars...didn't see any of those..but in any case be careful out there...

Did the Hawks get stung by a Jellyfish? Their performance vs. Orlando in the NBA playoffs has been an embarrassment.

Did you see Betty White on SNL? Pretty amazing for someone 88 years old. Great ratings...but some of the material they gave her was a little uncomfortable..but it is SNL.

How about our first place Savannah Sand Gnats!! They'll be back at Grayson Wednesday night.

If you haven't caught Justified on FX...check it out...very well done.

So Tiger withdrew from the Players, saying his neck hurt and he could have a bulging disc...poor choice of words there. You remember after his "accident" he said he got a split lip and his neck hurt....was that from the car or the golf club?
