Hi Everybody,
So here we are again....Everyone wants a debt deal EXCEPT the people we pay to get things done. Our Government in Washington, DC..is getting NOTHING done..so what else is new?
If these guys and gals had to work under the same set of rules as us this deal would have been done long ago. But with all the perks, benefits and special treatment they get they just don't care about us. And how about the Tea Party freshmen they need to read "The Art of the Deal".....there has to be some compromise..It can't be your way or the highway. But that's just what they're doing...at our expense.
Watching games on the Baseball package on Comcast the other night. Caught the White Sox with Savannah native Ken Harrelson doing the play by play as he's done for many years. Anyway Ken was talking about how he played football in High School. Two a days, salt tablets and on and on..But then he mentioned the High School he played for....a Military school in Savannah, Ga....Benedictine...BC. And he gave lot's of props to how tough HS football was in Savannah back in the day. The Hawk!!
Have you noticed how few Sand Dollars you see at the beach these days? That's because so many people took them home to bleach and use for Christmas ornaments. Sand Dollars are not ornaments they are living creatures who need to be left in the ocean. When you see people planning to take them home give them the heads up. I do that and most people get it and put them back. Sand Dollars are an endangered species....leave them be!!

Hi Everybody,
It's HOT!! Not only here but just about everywhere in the country except maybe the West Coast. Can you imagine 100+ temps in NYC.. not pleasant. The heat wave even hitting North of the border with close to 100 degrees in Toronto, Canada. Can you say Global Warming or to be more politically correct Climate Change?
Two books to recommend today...."The Girl with the Dragon Tatoo"-Stieg Larsson..it's a page turner. And "The Last Boy" by Jane Leavy. It's the sometimes sad story of New York Yankee legend Mickey Mantle.
So tragic the story in Norway. How does stuff like this happen? On a smaller scale the tragic death of Amy Winehouse. Only 27 she reportedly bought more than enough drugs the night before she died to end her life ten fold. The innocent victims in Norway did nothing but be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
So it looks like the NFL has reached a settlement but what about our government? Nothing happening there. It looks more and more like ALL of them just care about getting back into office and care nothing about us.
One other recommendation this week....Kerry Gold butter....you'll thank me.
And finally to maintain a healthy level of insanity...At lunch time sit in your parked car with sunglasses on and point a hair dryer at passing cars...see if they slow down...

Hello Everybody,
A tough, tough loss for the USA in the Women's World Cup. They had the lead twice and lost it very late. And then they were stopped in the Shoot-Out. But it was one of the most exciting sporting events in recent memory. And if we had to lose to anybody there was no team and country more deserving than Japan. They have been through so much and maybe this will help bring them back.
What's in the water in Northern Ireland? With Darren Clarke's win the British Open, Northern Ireland has now one the last two majors and 3 of the last 6. This is a tiny nation and they now rule the golf world. And although the US came close the major drought continues.
With the debt talks going on in Washington, do you ever get the sense than no one cares about us...me and you, the taxpayers...the folks paying the bills? The rhetoric, the posturing..it goes on and on and NOTHING gets done.
And on a lighter note don't you love the sense of camaraderie when an entire line of cars team up to prevent a jerk from cutting in at the front. Stay strong everybody and let me know what you think..
