Hello Everybody,

Another lovely weekend...we're pretty darn lucky aren't we?

So it's down to Butler-UConn. Before the tournament started we said a Big East team would win it..after all it was an 11 out of 68 chance. So we'll see tonight.

Doesn't it seem like the CBS NCAA studio show has at least one anylist too many?

Maybe this Fiesta Bowl mayhem will be the beginning of the end for the BCS. Let's hope so.

Did you see Elton John hosting SNL? If you didn't you're lucky and if you did see it you know how hard it was to watch. As a host he's a good singer. Otherwise it was awkward and just not funny.

Can you remember the last time you didn't feel tired? I guess it's just part of maturing.

Charlie, how's that winning deal working out for you now? Horrible reviews on his Warlock tour.

Our joke of the day...Donald Trump.

Have a great week everybody,

Jerry

Hello Everybody,

I know you had Butler playing VCU in the Final Four. What an amazing tournament and how hot is Chaka Smart? Can Tech get this guy? So no 1's and no 2's. I've been saying a Big East team would win it but I'm rooting for the Rams. VCU... the new Butler!!

Great storm yesterday..we needed it..but that might have been a little too intense.

Great line from Bill Maher this week.."The Tea Party doesn't like the term Teabaggers. Well I'll stop using that when they stop calling it Obamacare."

So Tybee tightening things up for the Beach Bum Parade. New rules and more security and they're asking organizers to pay for the additional security. As we've said before this event would be better served on a Saturday afternoon just like the other Tybee parades. But hopefully the changes will bring some much needed safety and return the family fun.

Looks like we'll get a chance to vote on Sunday alcohol sales but until then Georgia remains one of only 3 states with this particular Sunday Blue law.

And as the budget shortfall continues on all levels can we get serious about raising the cigarette tax? Georgia has one of the lowest taxes in the country and who exactly is that helping?

With the Final Four coming up Saturday let's not forget it's time to Play Ball beginning on Thursday. Although the Phils are the overwhelming favorites in the NL East, the Braves have a shot. Lot's of injuries for Philadelphia this Spring and lot's of new exciting faces for Atlanta. And now the picks..

NL East-Phillies

NL Central-Brewers

NL   West-Rockies

WC-Braves

AL East-Red Sox

AL Central-Twins

AL West-A's

WC-Yankees

World Series-Yankees over Braves..

Let me know what you think and have a great week,

Jerry

Hello Everybody,

St. Pat's in Savanah was perfect. Great weather with not a cloud in the sky until our visitors were heading home on Sunday. Lot's of those visitors and locals were at the beach on Saturday. Parking lots, on street parking, all full..it was a big day. And that meant the earliest start ever for the Q105.3 Tan tone...zap...zap...zap. Lot's of wide eyed stares by folks seeing the beach erosion for the first time this year. Lot's of deep cuts on different beach streets.

So everybody forgot about Libya and Col. Gadhafi due to the tragedy in Japan. No more...it's on. And hopefully not for long. With  3 different operations, our military is stretched thin.

Now that the St. Pat's excitement is over it's time for the Savannah Music Festival. What a wonderful line up this year. In just a short time the SMF has become a World Class event. Rob Gibson and his staff do a spectacular job.

Let's talk about Jon Bongiovi lead guy of Bon Jovi. He recently said that Steve Jobs has deprived the younger generation of experiencing music as it should be experienced. They don't get a chance to hold those overpriced CD's. They can download all the music they want. They don't have to buy complete CD's with lot's of fill material. They can download the individual cuts they want. Anyway Jon do you think we should go back to the horse and buggy days, phones on the wall, getting up to change the TV channel's? Jon we know you're hurting because you're not selling CD's but you're still selling out shows at an average ticket of $100...we won't be holding any benefits for you.

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductions. Alice Cooper, Neil Diamond..ok!! But some of the others, Darlene Love, Dr. John, Leon Russell, Tom Waits...marginal at best. Especially when you consider some of the acts NOT in the Hall. Here's a  partial list...Heart, Boston, Rush, Hall&Oates, Eddie Money, Joe Cocker, Chicago, ELO, Journey, Yes, Ringo Starr and so many more. Who's doing the voting here?

Have a great week,

Jerry

Happy St. Patrick's Day...Final Four edition,

So for the last few weeks I've been saying someone from the Big East will win it..time to put up or shut up. First though..this First Four is not working for me or anyone. Even with the world's best announcer, Gus Johnson, it was flat.

There are no great teams this year. Most of us because of one and done probably can't name even 10 college players but it's still March Madness and we love it. And it beats working!!

So here's our shot in the dark..

Connecticut

Syracuse

Kansas St.

Notre Dame

Notre Dame beats Syracuse for the title.

But anyone of a dozen teams can do it. How about Duke with Kyrie Irving back? Ohio St. is loaded and the list goes on and on.

First round upsets....Richmond over Vandy, Belmont over Wisconsin, Gonzaga over St' John's, Hampton over Duke...joking..

Good luck everybody!!
