Spring was nice for a couple of days but now we're back to the long Winter of our discontent. The beach was packed on Saturday. Lot's of Spring breakers but locals, too.So, I see these guys relieving themselves in the dunes and I got on them about it. But the truth is, the water's too cold to take of business there. And of course there are no facilities between South and North beach. So if you gotta' go, you're out of luck. If the Tybee City Council doesn't want to talk about dogs on the beach maybe they can do something about this.

Northern "freankin" Iowa..tear up those brackets. How'd that guy take that shot? But that's what makes a Cinderalla. Lot's of Cinderall's this year, who's gonna' be the next George Mason?

Oprah did not get the first Tiger interview. ESPN and The Golf Channel got it yesterday. CBS reportedly turned it down. They would not agree to the 5 minute time limit. Lot's of "that's personal" answers..but interesting.

Remember the J. Geils Band? Their lead singer, Peter Wolf, has a great new tune out teaming up with Shelby Lynne. It's called "Tragedy". Got me thinking about the times J. Geils played the Civic Center in the 70's. Peter was married to Faye Dunaway and she would come to town with him. It was Hollywood East backstage at the Civic Center.

Hello Everybody. Ready for a big week? St. Patrick's Day and the Savannah Music Festival. How lucky are we?

Huge turnout for the St. Pat's Parade at Tybee on Saturday. Kudo's to Jay Burke and his team. It gets bigger and better each year.

Is there a better sign that it's been a long cold Winter. Where are the azalea's? March 15th and not a sign.

Speaking of no signs..lot's of talk about Tiger coming back. But no word from his camp. When's he coming out of hiding? Will he be at Augusta?

Have you started working on your bracket? No strong favorite, although the #1 seeds seem to have separated themselves from the rest, but that's the case each year.Who's gonna' pull that first round upset....Murray St.,Cornell, Washington, Siena..what do you think?

The tournament starts tomorrow night. The ever popular play in game. Why?

On the Women's side I'll take Connecticut and give you the field.

Congratulations to the Savannah Christian Lady Raiders. State Class A runners up. Good job!!

Speaking of the Ladie's. The April 9th race between Zenyatta and Rachel Alexandra is off. Z won on Saturday and stayed unbeaten..15 straight now. But Rachel was upset in her comeback race and her connections say she's not ready to meet the mighty Zenyatta right now.

Those of us of a certain age spent a bunch of time watching Mission Impossible.Peter Graves will be missed. Good Morning Mr. Phelps. And wasn't he great in Airplane.

If you have a quirky sense of humor you'll enjoy Archer on FX. Not for the kids..but very funny. Thanks to Curry K. for the heads up on this one.

A day late this week. Out yesterday for a procedure. Something we all should have once we're past a certain age..in this case 50. Talking about a colonoscopy. The procedure itself not a problem...the day before not so much fun. But colon cancer is one of the most treatable cancer's if caught early enough. It's also preventable with proper diet. Moderate use of alcohol, red meat, no tobacco and lot's of fruit and vegetables. That's our Public Service Announcement for the week.

I liked the Oscar's. But can we cut out the stuff in the middle and just have the 10 awards we care about. The loud mouth lady who interrupted the guy who won the screen play award will continue her 15 minutes of fame tonight. She's with Joy Behar on HLN. The favorites all won including sometime Tybee resident Sandra Bullock..very gracious. Did anyone else think Miley's dress was too old for her? Did you see her Mom on the pre game show on E? She looked great but what's with the tramp stamp? Nice tribute to Director John Hughes...you forget all the stuff he did.

Since my running days have ended I spend lot's of mornings at the Tybee Island YMCA. Nice facility whose director, Hilary, does an excellent job..we're on a first name basis at the beach. Anyway can we please get a sauna and a steam room. And while you're at it...how about a swimming pool? Thank you very much.

Has the tobacco tax passed yet or are we going to wait until we lose more school days and cut more teacher's pay?

When you see people driving while talking on their cell phones w/o using hands free..yell at 'em!! Once you get used to using hands free, it's easy. So let's all get used to it. It's going to be the law, sooner rather than later.
