Hello Everybody,

Welcome to October and what fine October weather we have.Perfect for Picnic in the Park last night and hopefully it will stay that way for the wonderful festival's we have coming up...including the Greek and Jewish Food Festivals later this month.

Has "Dexter" jumped the shark? Very weak season opening episode last night on Showtime. Like the new Zooey Deschannel comedy on Fox..."New Girl"..it's funny, creative and well scripted.

Still can't get over last Wednesday night.. the most exciting regular season night in Major League Baseball history. That says a lot and takes in a lot of time but four meaningful games with three going down to the wire....it's never happened before. And you know we Braves fans are lucky....no one is talking about our collapse....it's all about the 'Sox.

Enough about Baseball because Football is truly the National pastime. That was brought home to me again yesterday afternoon. It was lovely at the beach so didn't why to be in the house but still wanted to keep up with the Yankee game. Anyway no smart phone but tried to DX it on the Radio. Must of tried at least 50 different stations with no luck. Lot's of NFL, Nascar, too. But Baseball...forget about it...

The 'Dawgs looked better, Jackets and Eagles still unbeaten and SSU has a nice new Stadium. And no matter what the Coaches poll says the AP has it right...LSU, Alabama, SEC 1&2.

Falcons were lucky and the long season continues for the Jags. A coaching change has to be in the offing..and how about those Lions. They've now won eight in a row and if you include pre season it's 12!!!

I am not a big fan of Vox Populii in the Savannah Morning News. Yes it's funny and sometimes a real point is made. But it's done under the cover of darkness. The SMN does not accept anonymous letters to the editor so why unsigned Vox Populii? There are so many hidden agendas that you don't know what's real or staged.

On another SMN note their Sunday editorial on term limits was spot on. Term limits take the choice AWAY from the voter. It should be up to us to throw the bums out if we choose not a mandated law. There are some politicians, for example Chatham County Commission Chairman Pete Liakakis, who have earned our support beyond two terms. Give us a chance to vote for them.

I've seen lot's of criticism of the Obama administration taking out Al-Queda terrorist Anwar al-Awlaki who happened to be an American citizen. No way...this guy was dedicated to killing Americans without a trial so why should he have gotten one? Folks we are at war..no time to turn the other cheek.

Madonna reportedly will be the half time entertainment at Super Bowl XLV1..bathroom break!!

Did you see the article in USA Today that cassette tapes are making a comeback? Can 8 Tracks be next?

Let me know what you're thinking and have a great week everybody,

Jerry

Hello Everybody,

Turned out to be a lovely weekend..beautiful at Tybee...but where were you? No matter how nice the weather is the beach is pretty empty in September. It's tough to compete with Football. Now Saturday night Tybee was pretty crowded..at least Stingray's was. Lot's of new items on the menu...there's a reason that place is always packed.....it's excellent. And the entertainment adds to it..Robert Willis was playing and he was outstanding. A perfect compliment to the evening.

It's lucky the Red Sox are around so the Braves won't be the biggest chokers. They're not going to blow this thing....are they?

Great weekend for area College football...nice wins for The 'Dawgs, Jackets, Eagles and Tigers. Not so much on the Pro side...a tough week for the Falcons and 'Jags. The SI jinx strikes again. They picked the Falcons to win the Super Bowl. They're off to a 1-2 start.

The AP poll got it right this week. LSU #1 ...very impressive. The SEC rides again!!

Still don't understand why some schools start as early as 7:30am. How can we expect our kids to learn at that time of day?

Wanted to talk about Politics  but it just makes my head hurt.....what about you? Maybe next week.

A happy and healthy New Year to all those celebrating. Rosh Hashonnah, the Jewish New Year, begins Wednesday at sundown.

If you're out there let me know what you're thinking....
