Hello Everybody,

How was your weekend? Hopefully better than mine. You know I've always said September was the best month to be at Tybee. But not this weekend....the clouds and the wind left the beach empty....

The 'Dawgs weren't empty. No matter who you're playing, 59-0 is pretty impressive. So much so, even with their 1-2 record, they got 7 votes in the AP poll. Georgia Tech got enough votes to put them at #25. If I was voting my Top 3 would be LSU,Alabama and Oklahoma with no one else in the same zip code.

The Braves not playing very well but getting close to wrapping up the wild card. Speaking of which....Boston.... we have a problem. They led Tampa Bay by 9 games in the wild card two weeks ago and now it's down to 2. If the Rays beat the Sox it will be the biggest collapse in baseball history. Tampa Bay plays 7 of their last 10 games with the first place Yankees. Could it be that Sox fans are going to have to root for the  evil empire? That couldn't happen..could it?

At some point interest rates have to go up...seems logical doesn't it? And when they do that means more debt for the country to pay down. Likely it will be as much money as the Super Committee saves when they make their budget cuts. And then as Maxine Nightingale says we'll be "Right Back Where We Started From"

So close for the 'Gnats....but no...

I guess we'll be tuning in to see Nancy Grace fall on her.....on "Dancing with the Stars" and Ashton Kutcher trying to replace Charlie Sheen on "2 1/2 Men". The new TV season starts this week...and after watching Jane Lynch's opening number on the Emmy's I'm thinking I'm not watching enough TV...who were all those people?

Have a great week everybody....

Hello Everybody,

It was hard to not have a tear in your eye watching and reading the 9/11 coverage. All those poor people gone in an instant...we will never forget...

The tributes at the weekend's sporting events especially moving.

So what can you say about the 'Dawgs..they were the better team but lost the game. 0-2 with both losses at home...it's not looking good for Coach Richt. Meanwhile Tech and GSU off to 2-0 starts. And this early in the season and instant classic...did you see that Michigan-Notre Dame game? Amazing!!

The Falcons were supposed to be really good and they lost..big time. The Jaguars were supposed to be bad and they won. The NFL is back and everything is upside down.

Have you seen all the recent comments in the Savannah Morning News Vox Populii about the gateways to Savannah? Whether you come in on 16, 95, President Street or any other highway or biway..it's not attractive. We truly are the "pretty lady with the dirty face". Does anybody here own a lawn mower? Savannah consistently in the Top Ten of places people want to visit and yet what they first see can not make a good impression. Don't know who's responsible....Federal, State, Local? But somebody needs to fix this.

Let me know what's on your mind and have a great week...

How was everybody's Holiday? Mine was fine although I had to leave Tybee. Headed to Atlanta for the wedding of Rich Levy and Michelle Krebs. Michelle is from Atlanta and Rich is Savannah born and raised. He is the son of Dayle and Aaron Levy of Levy Jeweler's fame. Beautiful wedding at the Tabernacle in Atlanta with the rehearsal dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe. Rich works for Live Nation and is in concert promotion and he has connections..hence the venues.

It was a big weekend in Atlanta with Dragon Kon(some interesting participants) Ga Football(let's not talk about it),Nascar(rain) and Braves baseball.Did get to go to an Atlanta game,Sunday afterrnoon. It was my first trip to the Ted(don't get out much.)What  a facility..and it's going to be filled come playoff time.

Back to Georgia..it did not look pretty. Unless Boise St. is the #1 team in the country....it's going to be a LONG season.

Time for those dreaded NFL football pix.....

AFC -New England,Houston, Pittsburgh, San Diego, Jets, Browns

NFC-Philly, Saints, Green Bay, St. Louis, Falcons,Tampa Bay

NFC South is the power conference and the Saints are the best team in that division. We look for New Orleans to beat New England in Indy. And yes we don't think the Colts will make the playoffs...with or without..Payton.

Georgia such a huge disappointment but what about The Irish? If you're Notre Dame you can not lose to South Florida at home. And congratulations to Tech and Georgia Southern for opening week wins and oh so close for Savannah State.

Let me know what you think and we'll talk about it next week..
