Another Monday but looking forward to the 3 day Memorial weekend coming up. But as we enjoy the time with family and friends let's not forget the meaning of the holiday as we salute those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.

Excitement at the beach this weekend, not only the Beach Bum Parade, but that plane landing on North Beach. The pilot says they've landed on other beaches and no one has had a problem with it...huh? Maybe beaches on islands in the middle of nowhere, but to land on a populated beach in the middle of the season..what was that yahoo thinking?

Back to the Beach Bum Parade. What started as a fun family Tybee event is not close to that anymore. It's become mean-spirited with people out to hurt  people. Power hoses, ice water, dirty water..you name it and people are doing it. This is an accident waiting to happen. As a matter of fact the Q has already had two accidents in the Parade. Five years ago someone threw a bucket of water at one of our vans and forgot to hold the bucket. One cracked windshield. And then two years ago one of our staffers got a punctured ear drum thanks to a power hose. The event needs to be reined in before it's too late.

Did you see Venus Williams at the French Open? There was plenty to see..definitely not family viewing time.

For those of you who hadn't lost Lost yet what did you think of the finale? Mixed reviews so far...
