Lot's of guys in contention at the PGA but hard to get into it when it's not Lefty or Tiger. At least Phil got it going in the last round, but Tiger..NOTHING. He is a very old 34.

Did get into it at the end...are you kidding me? There was sand there but since when are spectators standing in a sand trap? And where was the marshall who was following Dustin Johnson's group? The explanation we got from the PGA official was LAME.."we don't want to be hovering over the players"...gimme a break. Yes, DJ, should have paid closer attention to the posted rules regarding the 1,200+ traps on the course..even the ones that don't look anything like sand traps. But the PGA has to share just as much blame. And can you imagine if he had sunk that putt on 18 thinking that gave him the win. Everybody's jumping and screaming and crying and then...that tap on the shoulder. Would not have been pretty.

Big doings last week with Lyndy Brannen leaving TV. Lot's of tributes pouring in for  the Savannah native. Lyndy is one of a kind and we're lucky to have him at the Q. Lyndy one of the many veterans at Savannah's local radio station. Between all of us we've been on the air in Savannah for over 100  years...hope we don't sound that old

The Jellyfish are still prominent at the beach. Lot's of folks stung again this weekend and the funny thing you don't see them. In years past there were bunches washed up on the shore and sometimes you could see them in the water. Not this year..they are invisible stingers...but they hurt just as much

The other day I ran accross a poster from the Atlanta Pop Festival. The Summer of '69, my first year in Savannah. We made our way to the raceway in Byron just outside of Atlanta. What an event. Check this line up...Led Zeppelin, Janis Joplin, Canned Heat, Joe Cocker, Johnny Winter, CCR, Blood, Sweat and Tears, Grand Funk Railroad, Chicago Transit Authority(before they were Chicago) and many more. Led Zeppelin's performance is my most vivid memory, that and the heat. It was the 4th of July weekend and my first experience with the heat of a Georgia summer.

Tybee officials tell me they're working to improve beach signage. There are lot's of beach rules that if not followed will earn a stiff fine. The least city officials can do is make sure beach visitors are aware of the rules.

And one other Tybee note...The Beach is not an ashtray!!

Do not leave your butts on the beach...

Have a great week,

Jerry
