Just a few things to throw out there...
There's a couple of shows coming up that, if days off around the holidays work to your advantage, would be awesome to catch. Next Friday and Saturday, Widespread Panic set up shop at the North Charleston Coliseum. If you are lucky enough to have the day after Thanksgiving off, It would be worth the trip Charleston...make a weekend of it.
Christmas is on Friday this year and you know that by the time Saturday rolls around, the charm of the good old fashion family Christmas will be wearing off...load your fun cousins into the car and head to Atlanta to see Drivin' n' Cryin'. They play the Masquerade on Saturday, December 26th. They are currently on the road in support of their first studio album in 12 years "(Whatever happened to) The Great American Bubble Factory". This disc rocks! I have known the guys in band for about 20 years, drove all over the place to go see them in my 20's, and still try to catch them these days. They hold the distinction of being the loudest show I have ever attended. (Outdoor show at Victorian Village in Macon in the early 90's, so loud that people about 3 miles away could hear it) Go see these guys, they are still an awesome show!
And now the NASCAR section of my blog...I'm not a fan of Jimmy Johnson...never have been...don't hate him, but just don't like him. But I have to give him and his team credit, they know what they are doing. As a friend of mine on facebook said this morning..The Lowe's Team has become the NY Yankee's of NASCAR. But I will tip my hat on Johnson's Championship...his 4th...IN A ROW! That is amazing. Passing Cale Yarborough who won three in a row in the 70's and cathing up to him teammate Jeff Gordon with 4 championships...only The Great Richard Petty and Dale Earnhardt have more at 7. I stll have to say that I don't like the playoff system in place now.
Oh and by the way...my Vikings are 8-1 and have a fairly easy 2nd half schedule, Bengals and Cardinals are the toughest. I say Bengals-Colts for the AFC Championship and for the NFC, Vikings - Saints.
Oh and Pat...have a nice day.
