9/24/10

Well the football season has started as a total bust for me...Dawgs 1-2, Vikings 0-2.  Not sure what to think of the Dawgs at the moment...maybe A.J. coming back will be a boost.  As for the Vikings...what the heck is going on?  Is this the same team that was a few yards and a bad throw away from the Super Bowl a couple of months ago?  Brett has thrown more interceptions in two game as he did all year last year.  I know the Percy Harvin and Sidney Rice being out does not help, but come on...PLEASE!

The NFL has a different look to me this year.  Some friends of mine needed another player for fantasy football and asked me to get in.  I've never been into it before, but figured I'd help them out and give it a shot.  One thing that I had no idea it would do is make me watch football on Sunday in a whole new way.  Watching for game that I would normally have no interest in at all.  Kind of fun.  Of course I'm 0-2 so far, so my opinion my very well change before the end of this.

Don't for get that Tybee Pirate Fest is coming up 10/8/10 - 10/10/10.  Some of the highlight are the parade on Saturday afternoon, and Wormsloew, the Train Wrecks and Eddie Money playing throughout the day.  But for me, I'm looking most forward to see Drivin' n' Cryin' rock the place on Friday night!  I've been seeing the guys since the mid 80's and know they always put on awesome show.

On a Drivin' n' Cryin' side note...the band had their equipment trailer stolen a couple of weeks ago in Macon.  All their equipment is gone.  They got the word out and thanks to facebook, that word spred through their fans.  A little of the stuff has been recovered from pawn shops in Atlanta and a copy of the ID of the guy who pawned the stuff, but as word spread, the thief or thieves started to lay low.  Now there is concern that they may try to move the stuff out of Atlanta and then try to pawn it.  So if you own or know someone who owns a pawn shop, used music store, etc, pass the word so more stuff can be recovered.  And if you are planning on seeing the show on Tybee, have no worries, they have more equipment and promise a great show!  See ya there!
